Ready or not, here it comes! It's the season of celebrating family (we just had Mother's Day and Father's Day is on the way), weddings and graduations. There will be family reunions, and receptions, and ceremonies - all of which will be full of speeches and toasts. Are you ready?
If not, there are online resources that can quickly help you get ready. Here are a few:
- Toastmasters International has a plethora of resources for things like overcoming stagefright, preparing a business preparation, developing visual aids, delivering a eulogy, giving or accepting an award, and giving a toast.
- Persuasive Speeches Now has some great outlines and "basics" for writing different types of common speeches.
- Microsoft Office has a template you can download for free to help you write a great speech.
- The Alternative Whiskey Academy has list of how to say "cheers!" in many different languages, which will come in handy if your celebrations take you to countries afar, or to multi-ethnic celebrations in the U.S..
Whatever you're toasting or celebration or remembering this weekend, we here at WebRev wish you a safe and blessed time with family and friends. And let's not forget what this Memorial Day is all about - to give thanks for the sacrifices of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom!

Well, it's that time of year again. While in my world, there is no such thing as a "bad" Friday, Christians the world over are observing what is commonly called "Good" Friday, today - a day Christians set aside to remember the tremendous sacrifice that was made by our Savior. And then as Sunday gets closer, the celebrating goes wild. Traditionally, Christians are celebrating the resurrection of Christ, and there are a lot of other cultural traditions that get included in the festivities like eggs and candy and chocolate and bunnies. Who wouldn't like chocolate and bunnies?
Many bloggers and webmasters want to include graphics appropriate to the celebrations, and there a lot of resources for doing so. Here are a few.
Jib Jab is always great for fun and funny stuff. This year they have eCards (to include them on your site, just send one to yourself, then hyperlink to it using an image of the card). They also have a lot of other cool options for customizing your own photos and videos available by going to the main site, and typing "Easter" in the search bar.
Flickr has some great Easter-themed wallpapers available - be sure to check those out.
Second Life has some great sims, games, activities, poses, textures and photo opportunities for those interested in virutual worlds.
The Library of Congress is a fantastic resource for public domain historical information and photos pertaining to Easter celebrations in the United States. That is where I got the image above by Currier and Ives. The original is HERE.

Those of you who TiVo, and fast-forward through the commercials (and avoid watching the news) may not yet be aware there is an important election happening in the U.S.. Most everyone else is probably sick of it. But maybe you still with to fulfil your civic responsibility (and enjoy the priviledge that comes with Amercan citizenship) by voting responsibly in the election. If so, how to you research and study to know who is who, what they stand for? Even if you're a party-line voter, which way to vote on which state questions? It can be a daunting task!
Fortunately, there are some resources online that can help.
In your own state, you can search want to use your favorite search engine, and search for Oklahoma 2010 Election Guide and Oklahoma 2o10 Voter Guide (replace "Oklahoma with the name of your state, obviously). Here are some multi-state guides that focus on specific issues (I'd love to hear your suggestions, as well).
