Well, it's that time of year again. While in my world, there is no such thing as a "bad" Friday, Christians the world over are observing what is commonly called "Good" Friday, today - a day Christians set aside to remember the tremendous sacrifice that was made by our Savior. And then as Sunday gets closer, the celebrating goes wild. Traditionally, Christians are celebrating the resurrection of Christ, and there are a lot of other cultural traditions that get included in the festivities like eggs and candy and chocolate and bunnies. Who wouldn't like chocolate and bunnies?
Many bloggers and webmasters want to include graphics appropriate to the celebrations, and there a lot of resources for doing so. Here are a few.
Jib Jab is always great for fun and funny stuff. This year they have eCards (to include them on your site, just send one to yourself, then hyperlink to it using an image of the card). They also have a lot of other cool options for customizing your own photos and videos available by going to the main site, and typing "Easter" in the search bar.
Flickr has some great Easter-themed wallpapers available - be sure to check those out.
Second Life has some great sims, games, activities, poses, textures and photo opportunities for those interested in virutual worlds.
The Library of Congress is a fantastic resource for public domain historical information and photos pertaining to Easter celebrations in the United States. That is where I got the image above by Currier and Ives. The original is HERE.
