The US House of Representatives Majority Whip's office has developed a mobile application for Android, iPhone and Blackberry to help us all keep updated on pending national legislation.  I've checked it out, and I think government buffs (of all political persuasions) are going to find this application extremely useful.

It's a free application which gives floor updates, "driving the day" issues that are "hot button" issues in the news, and "most recent" updates for those who have just seconds to find out what is going on right now.  There are also "policy brief" resources, and a list of which legislation pertains to the more popular issues we hear so much like jobs, the budget, small business, taxes, regulation, the national debt, and energy.  There are a bunch of "communication tools," such as press releases, videos, and links to news stories about the pending legislation.  The app is very well done, easy to navigate, and well just "pretty" to look at.  Did I mention it's free?

Oh, and for those who need an old school refresher course on how bills get passed can always check out School House Rock Kids on Youtube (and the lyrics are HERE).  And, there's also an app for that.  See Cartoon Intro's of the 1960s to 2010 on Android (for $.99), and iPhone has an official version for free.  Meanwhile, enjoy this little bit of nostalgic Americana.
