10 Important Things Your Website Might Be Missing (Part 2)

This is a continuation of the "10 Important Things Your Website Might Be Missing Part 1" blog post from April 11th.

A website is one of the most powerful marketing tools you will have for your business. If you haven't put much thought into the plan or execution of your site then there's a high chance it could be missing many key aspects. Don't be discouraged, there's time to improve your efforts. We've outlined an additional 5 things your website might be lacking.

#1 Quality Content

Is the content on your website beneficial to viewers? Writing comes easy for some people but for others it does not. If you're unable to draft engaging content that's easy to understand then consider hiring a content writer. Just like you're an expert at your job, professional content writers create fresh copy for your website in a way that makes sense to a variety of viewers.

#2 A Mobile App

There's no denying that we live in a mobile friendly society, so make certain your website is easily viewed on mobile devices. If text is spilling off your page, users can't contact you easily, or shoppers are not able to make purchases on your e-commerce page then your mobile site has major room for improvement.

#3 Customer Testimonials

What better way to tell people how wonderful your company is than through the words of a repeat customer. Whether through text or video, testimonials create a vivid picture for potential customers and also help make your product or service more compelling. Not all websites contain testimonials, but don't underestimate their value.

#4 Link Building

Whether or not you realize it, you have already come across two links in this article by the time you get to this point here. Simply put, link building is the practice of boosting credibility and trust by linking within your website internally or to other websites externally. Google puts a value on link building, so following this practice will benefit your company website.

#5 Contact Information

This may sound obvious, but you would be surprised at the amount of websites that don't contain phone numbers, contact forms, addresses, maps, and other forms of contact. It's best to have your phone number on the upper fold or top of your page and make certain it's clickable from a mobile device. Build dynamic forms so current and future clients can submit inquiries straight from your website. Also, having a listed address and/or map is very beneficial for people to locate you easily.
